Synopsis

Un an après l’arrivée au pouvoir d’Aung San Suu Kyi, prix Nobel de la Paix, la Birmanie découvre une nouvelle liberté. Mais le pays est confronté à un problème inquiétant : la montée d’un sentiment nationaliste agressif envers la communauté musulmane des Rohingyas, qu’un groupe de moines bouddhistes extrémistes propage.
Alors, quel rôle jouent vraiment les 500 000 moines de ce pays si fervent ? Trois moines, chacun engagé à sa manière dans une Birmanie qui se cherche, livrent leur regard, leurs inquiétudes et leurs espoirs.

But the country is facing a worrying problem with the rise of a fierce nationalist sentiment targeting the Muslim community of the Rohingya people, and spread by a group of extremist Buddhist monks.
